FAQS

Get the Answers You’re Looking For

I have a referral from my general dentist. Now what?

The first step of your oral surgery will be scheduling a consultation with Dr. Kirk. During this appointment, you’ll meet with Dr. Kirk and an assistant to go over your dental health history and the details of your treatment. Once you feel comfortable with your treatment plan and you are informed about the procedure, our team will discuss your financing, insurance, and payment needs. At the end of your consultation, we will schedule your surgery and begin the next steps toward getting you back to optimal dental health.

What can I expect at an implant consultation?

During your implant consultation, Dr. Kirk will examine your mouth and take x-rays and impressions to determine which implant option is best for you, your oral health needs, and your budget. He’ll have a conversation with you about your smile goals, and offer honest advice about your treatment options. He’ll take all the time necessary to answer your questions about your dental health and treatment processes, and you will be given all the information you need to make an informed decision about your oral care.

What should I do to prepare for oral surgery?

In order to ensure the best outcome for your oral surgery and avoid any complications, follow these instructions: Refrain from eating or drinking anything (including water) for 8 hours before your procedure. Take all regular medications as directed and approved by Dr. Kirk, with a small sip of water. When you come in for your appointment, wear comfortable, loose clothing. If you are going to be sedated during your treatment, arrange for a responsible person to drive you home afterward. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call our knowledgeable team!

What are the benefits of implant treatment from an oral surgeon?

As an experienced oral surgeon in Lebanon, Dr. Kirk has extensive training when it comes to dental implants. He has completed continuing education courses as well as a fellowship in specialized care, and when you come to Tennessee Implant and Oral Surgery, you can trust that the results of your treatment will be strong and beautiful. Dr. Kirk has performed countless successful dental implant surgeries, and we would feel honored to be a part of your oral care and your journey to a healthy, strong, complete smile!

"We take a team approach to help you find a solution to your oral surgery problem."
